The AIS Scholarship Program gives outstanding Year 9 to 12 students in Singapore the space to achieve, lead, and grow. We recognise students who perform and contribute to the community around them. Students who lead, think for themselves, and use space well. 

 

Applications for 2027 are now open. The deadline is midnight, 1 August 2026.

Our scholarship program reflects that belief. We offer two awards that recognise different kinds of excellence, because excellence takes more than one form.

General Scholarship

Up to 50% tuition fee support.

The General Scholarship celebrates students with strong academic results and genuine, broad involvement in school life. Students who perform well and contribute to the community around them.

Who should apply

  • Achieve in the 90th percentile or above in standardised assessments or public examinations
  • Embody the AIS values of achievement, respect, and opportunity
  • Are motivated and engaged across school life
  • Have contributed through student leadership, sport, the arts, clubs, or community projects
  • Meet enrolment requirements for Years 9 to 12 at AIS Singapore in 2027

Specialist Scholarship

Up to 25% tuition fee support.

The Specialist Scholarship recognises students with proven depth and excellence in one of four areas: Leadership and Service, Sport, STEM and Innovation, or the Arts.

If your child has represented their school, a Singapore team, or a national team, produced significant project work, or competed ata high levelin their field, this scholarship is for them.

Who should apply

  • Demonstrate excellence in Leadership and Service, Sport, STEM and Innovation, or the Arts through competition results, project work, or representative experience
  • Embody the AIS values of achievement, respect, and opportunity
  • Are motivated and engaged in school life
  • Meet enrolment requirements for Years 9 to 12 at AIS Singapore in 2027

Senior Pathways at AIS Singapore

AIS Singapore offers four globally recognised senior programs, giving scholars the space to choose the pathway that fits who they are. Our senior pathways include the Cambridge IGCSE, IB Diploma Programme, Higher School Certificate, and IB Courses+.

How to Apply

Complete the Registration Form to receive and submit the Scholarship Application Form. All applications must be submitted by midnight, 1 August 2026.

Application Timeline

Complete the Registration Form to receive and submit the Scholarship Application Form by midnight August 1st, 2026.

 

  1. First round decision for interviews by August 15th
  2. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed week of August 24th – 29th
  3. Candidates will be notified by September 18th
  4. Awards will be announced / celebrated in Term 3 (October)

Application Submission

1. Complete the Registration Form to receive the Scholarship Application Form.

 

2. Complete the Scholarship Application Form, which includes:

  • A personal statement in English outlining your achievements in relation to the criteria, your contribution to AIS values, and any unique talents. Please keep to the word count of 400 words max. (Full details are provided in the application form.)
  • How do you feel you embody the AIS values of Achievement, Respect, and Opportunity. Please keep to the word count of 200 words max.
  • Describe any extracurricular activities, leadership experiences, or community service you are involved in. Please keep to the word count of 200 words max.

 

3. Submit a school application (not required for current students), including the last 2 years of academic reports, a letter of recommendation / reference letter from a teacher, and other required documents as outlined in the AIS school application requirements.

 

4. Provide 2–3 high-quality work samples to support your application, demonstrating academic excellence (e.g., school essays, projects, art, or music portfolios).

Selection Process

Stage 1:

  • A committee formed by the school will review the application and supporting documents to determine if the candidate is eligible to proceed to Stage 2.
  • Applications will be reviewed against criteria including academic achievements (as demonstrated in reports), the personal essay, supporting statements, and work samples.

 

Stage 2:

  • Applicants will be invited to attend a 20-minute interview with our academic panel.
  • They may also submit a portfolio of academic achievements for consideration.

Final Decision

Scholarship decisions will take into account the entire application process, evaluating the overall quality of the candidate’s submission – including their personal attributes, academic achievements, contributions to the school community, interview performance, demonstrated talent and potential impact on the AIS community.

Terms and Conditions

1. Scholarship awards cover up to 50% of course fees. In exceptional cases, awards exceeding 50% may be granted based on financial need and merit, subject to means testing.

2. Scholarships apply only to course fees and do not cover additional costs such as examination fees, uniforms, extracurricular activities, or residential trips.

3. Scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or awards.

4. Scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of the School Committee, and all decisions are final.

5. If a student fails to meet the expectations outlined in this policy, AIS reserves the right to reduce or withdraw the scholarship at any time.

6. Scholarships are awarded annually and are subject to renewal.

7. The scholarship is awarded to the named recipient only and is non-transferable. It may not be assigned, transferred, or exchanged for cash or any other benefit.

8. If there are no candidates of sufficient merit in a given year, scholarships may not be awarded.

9. Scholarships are contingent upon obtaining a valid pass to meet government requirements for attending AIS. This may include a Dependent Pass (DP), Student Pass (STP) or Ministry of Education (MoE) approval, where applicable.

10. Scholarships will be applied to course fees in the 2026 academic year, unless otherwise indicated.

11. For external students, scholarships are contingent upon meeting AIS admissions criteria.
